What new features will Windows 11 have?

·        Widgets Pane

 

In Windows 11 the task bar contains a new widgets pane. For now, at least, the selection of widgets is limited mostly to Microsoft services.

 

·        User Interface

Windows 11 has also been given a visual makeover with sleek rounded corners and a pastel palette. All aspects of Windows 10 have been reviewed to bring a fresh new look to the Windows operating system.

 

·        Snap Groups and Snap Layouts

 Task switching made easy. Snap Groups and Snap Layouts are collections of active applications that can be minimized at the same time for easier switching.

They also let you plug and unplug from a monitor more easily without losing where your open windows are located.

 

·        Integrated Android apps

 Android apps will be coming to Windows 11 and installable from within the new Microsoft Store via the Amazon Appstore.

 

·        Microsoft Teams integration

Microsoft Teams willbe integrated directly into the Windows 11 Taskbar, making it easier to access. Much like Apple’s FaceTime.

 

Is Windows 11 available to me?

Windows11 will be a free upgrade, providing the minimum system requirements are met. Windows11 is expected late 2021/early 2022 and will be available through the Microsoftwebsite or by using the Windows update feature in Windows 10.

When will Windows 11 be released?

Windows11 is set to release late 2021/early 2022.

Will my existing apps and hardware devices work with Windows11?

Most apps and devices that work with Windows 10 should work as expected with Windows 11. The new operating system is sufficiently like its predecessor that so there shouldn’t be a problem running most apps.

Do I have to upgrade to Windows 11?

No, you do not have to upgrade to Windows 11. Windows 10 will still be supported until October 2025 so there is no rush to upgrade to the latest version of the operating system.

How can I upgrade to Windows 11?

When it has been released, you will be able to upgrade to Windows 11 using the Windowsupdate function by going to:

               Settings > Update &Security > Windows Update

What are the minimum system requirements to upgrade toWindows 11?

  • Processor: At least an 8th-generation     Intel CPU or AMD Ryzen 2000 processor.
        You can check which CPU you currently have by going to:
        Settings > System > About > Processor
  • RAM: at least 4 GB
  • Storage: at least 64 GB of available storage
  • Security: TPM version 2.0, UEFI firmware, Secure Boot capable
  • Graphics card: Compatible with DirectX 12 or later, with a WDDM 2.0 driver
  • Display: High definition (720p) display, 9" or greater monitor, 8 bits per colour channel
